Project IM-00MS(151), Chatham, Effingham, Bryan, Bulloch, Candler, McIntosh, Glynn, & Camden Counties: Determination of No Undertaking

Report Number
1784
Year of Publication
1996
Abstract

The subject project would consist of upgrading end treatments of guardrail at various locations. While some earthwork would be involved in the removal and replacement of the guardrail end treatments, these areas have been disturbed previously with the installation of the existing guardrail. No acquisition of additional right-of-way or construction would be required to implement the project.

According to 36 CFR 800.2(0), an "undertaking" consists of "any project, activity, or program that can result in changes in the character or use of historic properties, if any such properties are located within the proposed project's area of potential effects...”

This project does not have the potential to result in changes to the character or use of any historic properties, therefore, the subject project does not constitute an undertaking. This finding fulfills the Department's requirements under Section 106.
