Abstract

New South Associates conducted a Phase I archaeological survey of one proposed bridge improvement within Fulton County on December 2, 1998. The existing bridge is 60 feet by 24 feet and the proposed improvements would extend the bridge to 90 feet by 40 feet. The parameters for the archaeological survey were 1000 feet approach in either direction of the bridge, 2000 feet total, and 150 feet on either side of the current centerline of the road, 300 feet total. A pedestrian survey designed to identify archaeological sites was also conducted at the bridge site. No archaeological sites were identified within the areas of possible impact, therefore no further archaeological work is recommended.
