Abstract

On February 2, 2000, New South Associates conducted a Phase I archaeological survey of a 36 by 43 meter tract of land in downtown Macon, Georgia for the proposed Transportation Control Center. The area consists of a tract of previously occupied land that has been cleared for construction of the center. The survey located one historic site, 9Bi124. This site is disturbed and does not appear to qualify for nomination to the National Register of Historic Places, and therefore no further study of this site is recommended.
