Abstract

In June of 2000, Southeastern Archeological Services conducted an intensive archeological survey for the proposed Gray bypass, in Jones County, Georgia. The overall length of the project is 9.7 km (6 mi), and the proposed right-of-way is 40 m (130 ft) wide. The survey located nine archeological sites and six isolated artifact occurrences. Due to poor integrity as a result of cultivation and erosion, and low research potential, none of the resources are considered eligible for listing in the National Register of Historic Places.
