Abstract

In September of 2000, a 4.1 km (2.6 mi) stretch of Wrightsboro Road on the outskirts of Augusta, Georgia, was archeologically surveyed. The work was conducted for the Georgia Department of Transportation and Richmond County, through the firm of Post, Buckley, Schuh and Jernigan, Inc. One archeological site, 9RI1084, which is a destroyed twentieth century house, and an isolated prehistoric chert flake were recorded during the survey. Due to low research potential, neither resource is considered to be significant. Thus, the proposed undertaking will not adversely affect any archeological sites that could be considered eligible for nomination to the National Register of Historic Places. No additional archeological studies should be required.
