Abstract

From March through April 1999, R.S. Webb and Associates conducted a cultural resource survey on the Oconee National Forest in Jasper County, Georgia. Approximately 1068 acres were surveyed prior to the West 11 timber sale activities. Thirty archaeological sites were identified, three of which were previously recorded. Eight sites are potentially eligible to the National Register of Historic Places, and twenty-two sites are not eligible. The potentially eligible sites will be protected in place by avoidance. Nine isolated finds were recorded as well. This project will have no effect on Historic Properties.
