Abstract

On October 15, 2001 a 2.0 km (1.3 mi) portion of Peachtree Road, in Buckhead, Fulton County, was archeologically surveyed by Southeastern Archeological Services, Inc. (SAS). Safety, operational and landscape improvements are proposed for this section of the four- to six-lane street. The survey was undertaken to ensure that the Georgia Department of Transportation is in compliance with Federal regulations concerning the disposition and protection of significant cultural resources (National Historic Preservation Act of 1966--as amended). No archeological sites were discovered, and no further archeological studies are recommended.
