New South Associates conducted a Phase I archaeological survey of the proposed realignment of State Route 8 in Barrow County Georgia. The study corridor encompassed 1.2 miles of 100 feet right-of-way. The study area is currently wooded with about 20 cm of topsoil present. Evidence of past agricultural activity is present and the survey did not locate any archaeological sites. No further archaeological study of the corridor is recommended.
