Abstract

This report describes a cultural resources survey conducted on a 65 acre land exchange proposed with the Georgia Power Company in Rabun County, Georgia. The parcel is located in Land Lot 25, District 5, of Rabun County, and in Compartment 65 of the Tallulah Ranger District, Chattahoochee National Forest. It is bordered on the north by Rabun High School, and on the west by Highway 23-441-15, south of the city of Clayton. A graveled county road forms the southern border, and the eastern border is an arbitrary line extended southeastward following the projection of the eastern boundary of the present Rabun High School property. The cultural resources field survey was conducted on March 4, 1980, by the author, assisted by Forest Service Hydrologist Trainee Jean Southall. Figures 1 and 2 locate the site.
