The survey described here was designed to locate and evaluate archeological sites in the area of a Pike County bridge replacement project proposed by the Georgia Department of Transportation. The survey located one archeological site within the project corridor, site 9PK5 1, believed to date to the Woodland period. Southeastern Archeological Services did not undertake evaluation of this site's NRHP eligibility. Nevertheless, project designers chose conservatively to redesign their plans and avoid any effect to this archeological site.
