Abstract

The proposed project would include the construction of a 5-foot ADA compliant sidewalk along the south side of PIB and the west side of Chamblee-Tucker Road. Street trees would be planted where appropriate on PIB and retaining walls would be constructed on Chamblee-Tucker Road where terrain next to the sidewalk is steep. The typical sections of both PIB and Chamblee-Tucker Road would not change. All improvements would take place within the existing right-of-way. All improvements would be constructed in compliance with ADA standards. The proposed project on Hood Avenue would include the construction of new 6-inch curbs and a 5-foot wide continuous sidewalk located at the back of the curb on both sides of the street. The existing median would remain. Mailboxes would be placed in a 2-foot landscape strip in front of the sidewalk. Lighting would be placed approximately every 70 to 80 feet. Street trees would be placed approximately 20 to 40 feet apart.
