Abstract

The proposed new bridge would be built immediately to the north of the existing bridge, with traffic maintained on the existing bridge while the new bridge is built. The new bridge would be wider than the existing one but would still consist of only two lanes. The total length of the proposed project is 1200 m (3935 ft), about 224 m (735 ft) longer than originally proposed. The total width of the project would be less than 73 m (240 ft) at its widest, near the center. In addition to the existing (30.5 m or 100 ft total) and required rights-of-way (up to 24.4 m or 80 ft total) already surveyed, the project would require additional new right-of-way on the south side of the road, for a variable width of up to 18 m (60 ft). Only the additional new right-of-way and additional length were surveyed for this report.
