Abstract

The first emergency project proposes to repair a severe slide which has resulted in cracked and damaged sections of ditch paving near M.P. 15.4 on the southbound side of US 441 in Habersham County, Georgia. The slide is approximately 20' wide and 100' long. To repair this damaged area, maintenance crews will place matting, approximately 120 loads of fill material, and rip rap on the slope. All work will take place within the existing right-of-way. Total project length is estimated at 200'. The second emergency repair project proposes to repair a culvert/apron structure that has pulled away from the culvert. The stream (a tributary to Mud Creek) is currently flowing, under the apron, causing further erosion. 'In order to repair this problem, the stream will have to be dammed and piped' while the apron is stabilized and repaired with 5 yards of concrete. An access road approximately I0Q' long and 15' wide will need to be cut in on the south side' of the culvert to allow equipment into the area. All work will rake place within the existing right-of-way.
