Abstract

A short form for negative findings for an addition to Phase I Archeological Survey of SR 268 over Hall's Creek, Coffee County, Georgia. The project is located on the Broxton South Quadrangle. The proposed project would replace the existing bridge with a quadruple 10-foot by 7-foot box bridge culvert on existing alignment. The bridge culvert would be 46 feet wide and 92 feet long (including wing walls). The bridge culvert would accommodate two 12-foot travel lanes and shoulders. The proposed roadway approaches would consist of 12-foot travel lanes with 10-foot shoulders, 2 feet of which would be paved. The proposed right-of-way would vary from 100 to 240 feet. During construction traffic would be directed to an on-site detour consisting of a triple 8-foot diameter concrete pipe bridge. The detour bridge would be constructed 70 feet south of the centerline of the existing bridge. The detour roadway and bridge would be removed at the completion of the project. Please see attached for project changes. Two shovel tests were put in and there are no previously recorded sites in the project area or within a 1-km radius of the project area.
