Abstract

The proposed project would consist of the realignment of the intersection of Hillandale Dr. and Fairington Rd. in DeKalb Co. approximately 250 ft north of 1-20 to improve safety and operational efficiency of the intersection. The proposed realignment would be shifted north of existing Hillandale Dr. but maintain the current bridge on Fairington Rd. over 1-20. Turn lanes, curb and gutter, sidewalks, and a traffic signal would be added to the improved intersection. The project would begin approximately 1,000 ft west of the existing intersection of Hillandale Dr. and Fairington Road and end approximately 1,200 feet east of the existing intersection. The improvements on Fairington Rd. would begin at the northerly end of the existing bridge over 1-20 and end approximately 1,400 ft north of the existing intersection where relocated Fairington Rd. would tie into DeKalb Medical Parkway. The total length of the proposed project is approximately 0.39 mile on Hillandale and 0.31 mile.
