Abstract

Under a continuing services contract with the U.S. Army Infantry Center, Directorate of Public Works, Environmental Division, Fort Benning Military Reservation, Panamerican Consultants, Inc. (PCI) conducted an intensive archaeological survey of 844 acres within selected areas of land management Training Area B5 (TA-B5) at Fort Benning, Georgia. This work was undertaken in compliance with Section 110 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA) of 1996. A total of 40 archaeological loci (13 sites and 27 isolated finds) were identified during the project. Of these sites, seven (9CE2262, 9CE2268, 9CE2272, 9CE2279, 9CE2281, 9CE2285, and 9CE2292) were recommended as indeterminate. The remaining 33 sites are deemed ineligible for inclusion to the NRHP.
