Abstract

Addendum to Phase I Archaeological Survey of SR 85 Alternate Bridge Replacement Over Pound Creek, Meriwether County, Georgia. Original Description: The proposed bridge would be constructed on existing alignment and be 120 ft. long and 44 ft. wide, to accommodate two 12 ft. wide travel lanes and two 8 ft. wide paved shoulders. The proposed roadway approaches would consist of two 12 ft. wide travel lanes, with 10 ft. rural shoulders (2 ft. paved and 8 ft. unpaved) and side ditches. The proposed project length is 1,100 ft. The proposed maximum right-of-way would be 200 ft. The additional 70 ft. of right-of-way would be located south of the existing bridge and is needed to accommodate a temporary on-site detour. The temporary detour bridge would be located 60 ft. south of the existing bridge, as measured from centerline to centerline. The temporary bridge would be removed after construction of the new bridge. Changes to the current project design include the addition of approximately 370 ft. at the west end of the project and approximately 400 ft. at the east end of the project. There would be no additional right-of-way taken.
