Abstract

Addendum to Phase I Archaeological Survey of SR 15 Over Dix Branch, Brantley County, Georgia. Original: The proposed project would replace the existing bridge over Dix Branch with a new bridge approximately 90-feet long by 44-feet wide on the existing alignment. The bridge would contain two 12-foot wide travel lanes with 10-foot wide shoulders. The roadway approaches on SR 15 would consist of two 12-foot travel lanes with 10-foot shoulders, two feet of which would be paved. The proposed right-of-way would vary- between 130 and 200 feet. No additional right-of-way would be required for the proposed project. However, 0.46 acre of a temporary construction easement would be required for the on-site detour. Traffic would be maintained on a temporary on-site detour bridge to be constructed within a temporary construction easement to the west of the existing alignment with a maximum centerline-to-centerline offset of approximately 60 feet. Once the proposed structure and approaches are complete, the temporary bridge would be demolished. (see attached for changes). Project Design Changes include: Additional right-of-way has been added to the east and west of SR 15 at Burton Boulevard intersection along the north and south sides of Burton Boulevard; adjustments in the C/F limits in the wetlands; additional right-of-way on west side of SR 15 on both sides of CR 1; an additional 34.61 feet added to the north end of the project area for one additional driveway connection (no effect on findings); and a total of 0.46 acres of temporary easements added.
