Abstract

Addendum to Archeological Survey of Six Proposed Bridge Replacements on the Coastal Plain of Southeastern Georgia. The proposed project would replace the existing bridge over Buffalo Creek with a new 510-foot long by 44-foot long wide bridge to be constructed on new alignment to the west of the existing structure. SR 23/US 301 would consist of two 12-foot travel lanes with 10-foot shoulders, two feet of which would be paved. The proposed right-of-way (ROW) would vary between 100 and 145 feet. A total of approximately 1.50 acres of additional ROW would be required for the proposed project. Two-way traffic would be maintained on the existing bridge while the proposed bridge is constructed. Once the proposed structure and approaches are complete, the old bridge would be removed.
