Abstract

New South Associates conducted a Phase I archaeological survey of two tracts totaling approximately 27.84 acres. The survey tracts are located along Old Peachtree Road around the intersection with Gwinco Boulevard in Gwinnett County, Georgia. The survey of Tract 1 was conducted on December 14th of 2004, and investigation of Tract 2 occurred on December 16th. No previously recorded archaeological sites were recorded as lying in or immediately adjacent to the study parcels. The remains of a historic residential structure (Site 9Gw588) were discovered in the northeast corner of Tract 2. Due to the eroded nature of the soils in the area and general ubiquitous nature of the findings no further archaeological study of the tracts is recommended.
