Archaeological Survey of Proposed Improvements to the Intersections of SR9/20 at Mary Alice Park Road, Bald Ridge Road, and Meadow Drive, Forsyth County, Georgia

Abstract

In June of 2003, Southeastern Archeological Services conducted an archeological survey of proposed improvements to the intersection of , within the city limits of Cumming, in Forsyth County, Georgia. The survey was conducted for the Georgia Department of Transportation, through the engineering firm of Edwards-Pitman Environmental, Inc. The project involves the realignment of Mary Alice Park Road and Bald Ridge Road at the intersection with SR 9/20. Additionally, Meadow Drive will be extended to intersect with the realigned portion of Mary Alice Park Road. Turn lanes and traffic signals will be installed. The proposed new right-of-way is approximately 23 m (75 ft) along the realigned portion of Mary Alice Park Road and the Meadow Drive extension. No archeological sites were recorded within the project area.
