Abstract

A series of Phase II archaeological investigations at the Hourglass Road sites located in portions of Training Areas Dl, J6, J7, and K23 within Fort Benning Military Reservation. The objective of the surveys was to evaluate each site to determine its eligibility for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) and to make recommendations for future archaeological investigations. A total of 10 sites (9CE63, 9CE1714, 9CE1717, 9CE1913, 9CE1914, 9CE2028, 9CE2030, 9CE2032, 9CE2033, and 9CE2355) were initially investigated during the series of Phase II surveys. The project is located in the Buena Vista NW, Ochillee, Thomaston, and Americus Quadrangles.
