Abstract

This is a Phase I Archaeological Survey of SR 29 at CR 68/Bethlehem Church Road, Laurens County, Georgia. The survey is located on the East Dublin Quadrangle and was performed by GDOT. The proposed project would improve the intersection of SR 29 and CR 68/Bethlehem Church Road in Laurens County. SR 29 would be widened 6-ft symmetrically to provide for left turn lanes with additional 12-ft right turn auxiliary lanes. The radii on CR 68/Bethlehem Church Road would be improved to 50-ft for both the north and southbound approaches. The project length would be approximately 800 ft on SR 29 and 230 ft on CR 68/ Bethlehem Church Road. Total project length would be approximately 1,030 feet (0.20 mile). The proposed typical section for SR 29 would be two 12-foot travel lanes, one in each direction, with a 12-ft left turn lane and a 12-ft auxiliary right turn lane in both directions. The proposed shoulders would be 10.5 ft wide, 6.5 ft paved and 4 ft grassed. The existing ROW along SR 29 is approximately 100 ft and approximately 80 ft along CR 68/ Bethlehem Church Road. The proposed ROW along SR 29 would vary from 100 ft to approximately 175 ft. The survey resulted in negative findings.
