A Cultural Resources Survey of Compartment K-13 Fort Benning Military Reservation Chattahoochee County, Georgia

Abstract

Intensive archaeological survey was conducted by Southern Research in 1996 and 1997 in land management compartment K-13, which is located in Chattahoochee County, Georgia. This work was done for the U.S. Army Infantry Center, Directorate of Public Works, Environmental Division, Fort Benning Military Reservation, in compliance with Section 110 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA) of 1966. Fifty-nine archaeological loci were identified, which included 34 sites and 25 isolated finds. Thirteen sites were identified that may be eligible for the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). Protective measures are recommended for these sites.
