Intensive archaeological survey was conducted by Southern Research in 1996 and 1997 on two land management compartments, E-01 and E-02, which are located in Chattahoochee County, Georgia. This work was done for the U.S. Army Infantry Center, Directorate of Public Works, Environmental Division, Fort Benning Military Reservation, in compliance with Section 110 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA) of 1966. Seventeen archaeological loci were identified. Seven sites were identified that may be eligible for the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). Protective measures are recommended for these sites.
