Intensive archaeological survey was conducted by Southern Research in 1996 and 1997 on land management Compartment O-06, which is located on the Fort Benning Military Reservation in Muscogee County, Georgia. This work was done for the U.S. Army Infantry Center, Directorate of Public Works, Environmental Division, Fort Benning Military Reservation, in compliance with Section 110 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA) of 1966. A total of 144 archaeological loci (105 sites and 39 isolated finds) was identified. Forty-three sites were identified that were considered potentially eligible for listing in the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). Protective measures are recommended for these sites.
