Abstract

This report presents the results of a cultural resources survey of selected timber harvesting areas within the Fort Kenning Military Reservation. This survey was undertaken by Gulf South Research Corporation and R. Christopher Goodwin & Associates, Inc., at the request of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineering and Housing (DEH), Fort Benning. A research design calling for the selection of survey tracts, containing a total of 1500 acres (607 ha) in 21 pecified compartments, and for the assessment of cultural resources within those tracts was submitted to the Savannah District. Field investigations were initiated upon approval of the research design.
