Intensive archaeological survey was conducted by Southern Research in 1998 in land management compartment BB-06, which is located in Chattahoochee County, Georgia. This work was done for the U.S. Army Infantry Center, Directorate of Public Works, Environmental Division, Fort Benning Military Reservation, in compliance with Section 110 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA) of 1966. The study area is comprised of 218 acres (88 ha), which includes 68 acres of previously surveyed land. A total of 150 acres (61 ha) was examined in the present study. A total of seven archaeological loci (2 sites and 5 isolated finds) was identified in Compartment BB-06. None of the sites in this compartment were deemed eligible for the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). No further work is recommended in Compartment BB-06.
