Intensive archaeological survey was conducted by Southern Research in 1998 and 1999 in land management Compartment X-02, which is located in Russell County, Alabama. This work was done for the U.S. Army Infantry Center, Directorate of Public Works, Environmental Division, Fort Benning Military Reservation, in compliance with Section 110 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA) of 1966. A total of 155 acres (63 ha) was examined. A total of three archaeological loci (two sites and one isolated find) was identified in Compartment X-02. None of the cultural resources in this compartment is eligible for placement in the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP).
