Abstract

This is an archaeological report short form for negative findings for the proposed project would consist of improvements on Simpson Street between Centennial Olympic Park Drive and West Peachtree Street and on West Peachtree Street between Simpson Street and Alexander/Ralph McGill Boulevard. Improvements along Simpson Street would include two 10-foot wide lanes of traffic (one in each direction) and a minimum 6-foot wide sidewalk on the north side of Simpson Street. On the south side of Simpson Street, a 6-foot wide planting strip with an adjacent 8-foot wide sidewalk is proposed. All the above improvements are proposed to be implemented within the existing right-of-way. An additional 6-foot wide easement from adjacent property owners is proposed along the south side of Simpson Street to support a second planting strip. Street trees would be consistently spaced at 30 feet on center and additional street and pedestrian lighting would be added. A retaining wall is proposed along the south side of Simpson Street from Williams.
