Abstract

This is a GDOT report short form for a Phase I Archaeological Survey of the Bass Road Corridor in Bibb County, Georgia. The project consists of a Phase I archaeological survey of approximately 3,300 linear feet along Bass Road between the I-75 and Beaverdam Creek. The area of potential effect (APE) consists of both sides of Bass Road between the I-75 and Beaverdam Creek in Bibb County, Georgia. The total length of the corridor is approximately 1,005.84 meters (3,300 linear feet). The APE investigated was within a 30 meter (100 feet) corridor. Most, if not all, of the project corridor appeared disturbed by construction. Soils were either disturbed or exposed subsoil. Two transects were walked along 100 foot (30 meter) corridor. Shovel test pits were excavated at 30 meter interval and were 30 centimeters round. Material from these tests were screened through 1/4 inch mesh.
