This is a GDOT archaeological report short form for negative findings for a Phase I Archaeological Survey of the Peachtree Road Streetscape, DeKalb County, Georgia. The project will provide streetscape improvements along the north side of Peachtree Road, adjacent to the Chamblee MARTA station, from Chamlbee-Tucker Road to Pierce Drive. The streetscape will include new sidewalks, street trees, pavement enhancements at intersections, pedestrian lighting and street furniture where appropriate. The condition of the survey area did not allow for shovel testing due to the presence of utilities and pavement. The entire project area was walked which allowed the crew to examine the ground surface wherever the surface was exposed. The remainder of the fieldwork was spent photographing the project area to justify the lack of subsurface testing by documenting the condition of the project area.
