Abstract

On March 28, 2006, Environmental Services, Inc. (ESI) performed an intensive cultural resource assessment survey of an approximately 300 meter segment along Millikin Bay in Wayne County, Georgia, on behalf of the City of Jesup. The western bank is the proposed location of an extension to a recreational boardwalk. The goal of the survey was to locate, identify, delineate, and evaluate all cultural resources within the parcel, including prehistoric and historic archaeological sites, as well as historic structures. The cultural resource assessment survey included a pedestrian inspection combined with systematic shovel testing at 30-meter intervals. As a result of the survey, no archaeological sites, historic structures, or isolated artifacts were encountered. No further archaeological investigation is recommended for this parcel.
