Abstract

The proposed project would widen Washington Road for a distance of approximately 4,000 feet (0.75 mile) between Flowing Wells Road and Club Car Road. The existing roadway would be widened up to 14 feet in order to accommodate a median turn lane. The existing Washington Road is a four-lane highway with two 12-foot travel lanes in each direction and two feet/eight inches of paved shoulder on each side. The proposed typical section would consist of four 12-foot travel lanes (two in each direction) and a 14-foot median turn lane with 30-inch curb and gutter on the north side of the roadway. No right-of-way would be acquired for the proposed project; however, approximately 1.2 acres of permanent easement and 0.05 acres of temporary easement would be required from property on the north side of existing Washington Road. Club Car would have approximately 0.04 acres of temporary easement. No existing or eligible National Register resources were located within the project's area of potential environmental effect.
