The Clito substation site, Bulloch County, Georgia, is located just off Middle Ground Road near Statesboro (Figure 1). The site is located on a former agricultural field. The plow zone had been scraped,',- away at the time of the survey (Plates I and 2), affording excellent ground visibility. No subsurface features were found. The surrounded field was examined; no artifacts were discovered. Plate 3 shows an occupied pre-1940 house which is located .3 mile east of the substation site. There does not appear to be anything of prehistoric or historic significance on or near the substation site which will be affected by the proposed construction.
