Project Description:
The project is a Phase I Archaeological Survey of the impact area for the proposed widening and bridge replacement of Gravel Springs. Road at I-85. The Project also investigated new alignment corridors for Morgan Road and Camp Branch Church Road, which will be moved further away from I-85 to allow for future exit ramp construction.
Area of Potential Effect:
The APE consists of 0.78 mile along both sides of Gravel Springs Road, that includes a single bridge 531 feet long. Additionally, 0.53 mile of Morgan Road and 0.58 mile of Camp Branch Church Road are to be relocated away from their existing locations along I-85 to allow for future addition of exit ramps and HOV lanes.
