Abstract

GDOT ARCHAEOLOGICAL REPORT SHORT FORM FOR NEGATIVE FINDINGS: Addendum to Phase I Archaeological Survey of the Atlanta Smart Corridor Project Area, Cobb and Fulton Counties, Georgia Prime Consultant: Transcore County(ies): Cobb and Fulton; USGS Quadrangle(s): Marietta, Sandy Springs, Northwest Atlanta Project Description: Original: The Atlanta Smart Corridor Project would be an innovative approach to managing traffic and transit operations. The proposed project would install adaptive traffic signal control and transit signal priority hardware and software, presence detection (inductive loops and video detection cameras), and minor intersection upgrades such as new traffic signal heads and 332 cabinets at some of the project intersections. The intersections are located on US 41/Cobb Parkway/Northside Parkway from South Marietta Parkway in Marietta, to Howell Mill Road in the City of Atlanta. Area of Potential Effect: The APE for the project includes everything with the proposed construction project length and within the maximum extent of the existing right-of-way as described above.
