Abstract

R. S. Webb & Associates, a professional cultural resources management firm, conducted an archeological field survey of the above referenced telecommunications tower site location. This survey was conducted at the request of and based upon locational information provided to R.S. Webb & Associates by Terracon. The Big "A" Site 200 foot monopole telecommunications tower site is located at 5941 S. River Road in Douglasville, Georgia. The site lies approximately 2,400 feet south of Highway 166 and 3,600 feet North of the Chattahoochee River. There are seven state recognized prehistoric sites within 1.5 to 2.0 km of the proposed tower site. These sites were recorded in 1988 by Brockington and Associates and are documented in the report titled; Archaeological Survey and Site Testing in the Proposed Dog River Reservoir, Douglas County, Georgia.
