Abstract

This-report covers a Cultural Resource Survey of the two mile Branch A from Stover Creek Road, crossing Middle Mountain in southwest Whitfield County, Georgia, and an adjacent wildlife opening. The terrain covered was extremely steep and very rocky having been logged in the past. A few level acres were farmed-and lived on. No cultural resources were found on the roadway. The J.W. Gilbert farmhouse site at the south end of the wildlife opening should be protected by excepting it from the clearing. No effect on the cultural resources should be expected from the proposed construction projects, with that modification.
