Abstract

A Phase 1 cultural resources survey of the proposed Fox Hunter Road and Indian Trail Road improvement corridors was conducted in Screven County near Sylvania to locate and identify cultural resources within the projects' area of potential effect and assess resource significance based on National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) criteria (36 CFR Part 60.4). No cultural resources were identified along the Fox Hunter Road corridor. Five archeological sites, six historic structures and six isolated finds were recorded during the field survey of the Indian Trail Road corridor. The archeological sites, isolated finds and four of the historic structures are considered ineligible for the NRHP. Two historic properties are recommended potentially eligible for the NRHP.
