Abstract

This report presents the results of an archeological survey of four construction areas associated with the proposed Chattahoochee Tunnel in Cobb County, Georgia. The work was completed by Southeastern Archeological Services for the Cobb County Water System, through the engineering firm of Jordan, Jones, and Goulding. The four construction areas range in size between 0.27 and 2.88 ha (0.66 and 7.11 ac), and together total 5.7 ha (14.06 ac). The survey included a background and literature review, field inspection on June 9, 1999 to determine if archeological resources were present, and preparation of this report. No archeological sites were found. Thus, in regard to archeological resources, the project should be allowed to proceed with no further work.
