Abstract

The proposed project would consist of the construction of sidewalks and wheelchair ramps along both sides of Covington Highway from approximately 350 feet west of Memorial Drive to W. Austin Drive in DeKalb County, Georgia. The project would be constructed in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act guidelines. The typical section for the proposed project includes curb and gutter with a two-foot grassed separation strip and 10-foot sidewalks on both sides of the street. The total length of the proposed project is approximately 1.59 miles. The existing right-of-way varies from 75 to 150 feet. The proposed project would require 1.0 acre of right-of-way, 0.10 acre of permanent easement, and 3.44 acres of temporary easement. The above description is based on plans received 9/22/05. Reevaluation changes: The amount of required right-of-way has decreased from 1.0 acre to 0.721 acre. The amount of temporary easement has increased from 3.44 acres to 3.888 acres. The amount of permanent easement has decreased from 0.10 acre to zero.
