Abstract

A cultural resource survey was conducted at the Millers Dock property on the waterfront in St. Marys, Georgia. The purpose of the survey was to determine whether the property contained resources that might be eligible for nomination to the National Register of Historic Places. Deed records showed the 1/2-acre lot had historically been divided into two separate segments, occupied and/or used as early as 1792. Archaeological testing located, two activity areas (under 40-60 cm of recent fill dirt) corresponding to the separate lots. Two sites were designated. We recommended that an archaeologist monitor construction at the site to ensure its preservation.
