The proposed project would widen and resurface SR 15 from Satilla Road to Fair Street in Baxley. It is proposed to uniformly widen this roadway between the project limits to a width sufficient to provide four eleven foot lanes. The existing roadway varies in width from two to four lanes, and the proposed widening would begin at Satilla Road and extend to Lakeview Drive, total project length is 1.25 miles. The existing right-of-way is 100 feet, no additional right-of-way would be required , except at cross streets. An archaeological survey consistent with the project description was conducted for the entire length of the project corridor. No existing or eligible National Register archaeological resources were located within the project's area of potential environmental effect. It is concluded, therefore, that the project will have no effect upon archaeological resources on or eligible for inclusion in the NRHP provided that the project conforms to that described above.
