Abstract

A 30 acre area is proposed for the expansion of housing facilities at Georgia College & State University. This acreage is one of two locations targeted for the expansion of the West Campus. This report focuses on the intensive archaeological survey of the western portion. Historic background sources were consulted, as were the archaeological site files to place the area in historic and prehistoric context. A terrestrial survey of the area was also conducted revealing evidence of soil erosion, recent historic forestry and water system development in the area. No archaeological resources were discovered during the survey, therefore no further archaeological study is recommended.
