Abstract

On January 31, 2001 Southeastern Archeological Services, Inc. (SAS), archeologically surveyed seven intersections in downtown Cochran, the county seat of Bleckley County, Georgia (Figure 1). The survey was undertaken to ensure that the Georgia Department of Transportation is in compliance with Federal regulations concerning the identification and protection of significant cultural resources (National Historic Preservation Act of 1966--as amended). No archeological sites were discovered, and no further archeological studies are needed at these intersections.
