Abstract

In February 17 - June 7, 1982, cultural resource surveys were conducted on three proposed roadways in the Armuchee Ranger District. Each of the roads required access across private property to enter the Chattahoochee National Forest. Springs Creek Road is a 0.4 mile access from County Road 324 east of East Trion. The Concord Creek Road is a 1.7 mile corridor south of Villanow, and the Taylor Ridge Road is a 2.5 mile line west of Gore community. Three prehistoric sites and one historic house site were discovered during the survey. One prehistoric site lies within the boundaries of the Taylor Ridge Road, and will be protected until testing is conducted. The others will not be effected by the construction.
