A phase I Archaeological Survey of Proposed Rae's Creek Drainage Improvements section II, Richmond County

Report Number
5552
Year of Publication
1999
Abstract

An intensive archaeological survey of proposed drainage improvements to Rae's Creek between Skinners Mill Road, Wheeler Road and Boy Scout Road in Augusta, Georgia, resulted in the investigation of three historic archaeological resources within the proposed project right-of-way. Sites 9Ri422 and 9Ri426 had been previously recorded; the third site, 9Ri1028 had been documented near the project area, but had not been professionally investigated and recorded. Although archaeological monitoring of Site 9Ri1028 during construction activities is recommended, none of the sites is considered eligible for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places.
