Abstract

In January 2009, R.S. Webb & Associates (RSWA) conducted a Phase I cultural resources survey of the proposed 181-hectare (450 acres) Indian Creek water reclamation facility and holding pond site in Henry County, Georgia. The project area is located approximately 1.9 kilometers east-southeast of'Luella; the project Area of Potential Effects (APE) was defined as being the project boundaries plus 100-meters (m) beyond the project boundaries; this includes a required 50-m buffer zone adjacent to the project boundaries. The Georgia Historic Preservation Division (HPD) requested that a Phase I cultural resources survey be conducted for this project under the Georgia Environmental Policy Act. The purpose of the survey was to locate and identify cultural resources within the project area, and to assess resource significance based on National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) criteria [36CFR Part 60.4].
