Intensive archaeological survey was conducted by Southern Research in 1996 and 1997 on land management compartment L-05 which is located in Muscogee County, Georgia, respectively. This work was done for the U.S. Army Infantry Center, Directorate of Public Works, Environmental Division, Fort Benning Military Reservation, in compliance with Section 110 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA) of 1966. Twenty-one archaeological loci were identified, seven of which were defined as sites. Two sites were identified that may be eligible for the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). Protective measures are recommended for these two sites.
